H&M South Africa raises the bar in roll coating
We are always dedicated to delivering high-performance roller coverings that meet the toughest industrial demands. Our H&M South Africa team recently took on an impressive challenge, coating an extremely large Sappi Press Top Roll with high-performance polyurethane (PU) and a composite underlayer. The result? A durable, high-quality solution built to perform.
This challenging project showcased our technical skill and attention to detail:
- Total roller weight (including bearings and housing): 43 tons
- Overbuild: 11mm (5.5mm per side), fine-tuned from an initial 15mm
- Casting process duration: 5 hours
- Total polyurethane used: 980 kg
A key highlight of this achievement was the customer’s presence during the casting process, reinforcing our commitment to transparency, collaboration, and excellence.
